Methods of Concealed Carry

Choosing how and where to carry your firearm is one of the most important parts of being a responsible permit holder. Comfort, concealment, access, and safety all matter.

🧍 Common Carry Methods:

  • Inside the Waistband (IWB): Most popular; offers concealment and control
  • Outside the Waistband (OWB): Easier access but harder to conceal without a jacket or long shirt
  • Appendix Carry (AIWB): Carried in the front for fast access; requires careful trigger discipline
  • Small of Back: Conceals well but slower draw and riskier in falls
  • Shoulder Holsters: Common for jacket wearers; slow to access but can be comfortable

🎒 Alternate Carry Options:

  • Purse or Bag Carry: Only if bag stays on your body at all times
  • Fanny Packs / Sling Bags: Offers concealment, but requires practice for quick draw

✅ Key Considerations:

  • Firearm must be secure and trigger guard fully protected
  • You must be able to access the firearm quickly under stress
  • Practice drawing from your chosen method — with an unloaded firearm

There is no universal “best” carry method — choose what fits your body type, daily routine, and skill level. Whatever you pick, train with it.
