Lesson 30 – Interacting with Anti-Gun Individuals or Groups
As a responsible gun owner, you may encounter individuals or groups who strongly oppose firearms. Whether during open carry, conversation, or social media exchanges — how you respond reflects not only on you, but on all permit holders.
🧠 Stay Calm and Professional:
- Avoid arguments, name-calling, or confrontational language
- Do not engage in debates while armed — your focus should be safety, not persuasion
- Respect differing opinions, even when you disagree
🚷 Walk Away if Necessary:
- If someone becomes aggressive or confrontational, remove yourself from the situation
- Never unholster, show, or reference your firearm in an argument
- Your job is to de-escalate — not to win an argument
🗣️ Represent Responsibly:
- Your behavior can reinforce or destroy public perceptions of gun owners
- Use social media carefully — hostile or threatening posts may be used against you
- Remember: carrying a firearm means a higher standard of conduct
You are an ambassador for lawful carry. Stay calm, walk away, and always act in a way that reflects your training and responsibility.
